Top 12 Invitation Trends

Invitations are one of the most important aspects of event planning as they set the first impression and tone for your entire event. Accordingly, depending on the season and theme of your event, you want to stay up to date with the latest trends. We spoke with Deanna from Cordially who gave us a scoop into the current wedding invitation trends and provided insight for each trend. Here are the current top 12 trends: 

1. Marble:

Marble is a trend that has truly become a theme. Host a marble-themed event to bring that neutral tone design into your special day.

2. Tropical:

Tropical Floral has been very popular this season, particularly the use of banana leaves and neon lights!

3. Foil:

Foil will always be in the realm of weddings because it brings that metallic shine for those everlasting colors like gold, rose gold and/or silver. In addition, metallic colors bring a level of formality to the event, starting with the invitations.

4. Calligraphy:

Calligraphy is a wonderful addition for any bride and groom who has the budget to take their suite to the next level. 5. Monograms:

Monograms are a great way to personalize in a couple's honor. You can add your monogram to the invites or create a custom wax seal. 

6. Watercolor:

Watercolor is always loved by brides because it's soft and feminine yet brings some depth to the artwork. Most watercolor style invitations involve floral or leafy artwork.

7. Geometrics:

Geometric shapes are for clean, modern and minimal couples who appreciate simplicity.

8. Greenery:

9. Minimalist Designs:

Minimalist Designs are subtle and simple. They are usually typically typographic based with no graphics to keep that clean, fresh and classic aesthetic.

10. Envelope Liners:

Envelope Liners are a great way to add that extra personal touch to your invitations. It can be a solid color to add that pop of contrast or it can be patterned, to emphasize your theme without overpowering the invitation itself.

11. New Materials:

New materials will always inspire and bring forth creativity! Currently popular materials being used include paper, velvet, acrylic, linen, transparencies and even wood which are mixed with the embellishments of wax seal or ribbon.

12. Beautifully Wrapped:

Beautifully wrapped invitations is a trend that makes use of different materials such as transparent paper wrapped around the invitation and then sealed. This unveiling of the invitation provides a special reveal!
