CHRISTINE'S STORY: BRIDESMAIDS GIFTS

This week we started to hand out our invitations. Traditionally, in Armenian families, we attend the guest's home and join them for a cup of tea or coffee as we present the invitations. The first place we went after our parent's homes was my cousin Armine's home. Armine's two daughters, Anita and Aileen, are also two of my bridesmaids. In addition to the invitations, I decided to present them with their bridesmaid gifts.

TALAR'S STORY: OUR WEDDING FLOWERS

This is it! My last blog before the big day and I've saved my favorite vendor for last, my florist. I first heard of Martha & Co Martha as she was the florist for a friend's wedding. I used her services for a birthday party I threw for my parents and her work was flawless. She is really multi-talented and wears so many hats. Naturally, and without hesitation, I chose her to be my wedding florist. Given my nervousness and anxiety over all of the planning that had to go into this big day, I met with Martha a total of 5 times! As you may know, this isn't the norm! One or two meetings should be all that you need.

CHRISTINE'S STORY: LASHES BY LYNETTE

When I heard that there was going to be a bridal bar at last year's Harsanik Bridal Show, I was so excited! I had recently heard about lash extensions so I definitely wanted to try them. When I arrived at the bridal show, I met Lynette from Lynette Marie Skincare and Lashes. Her bubbly personality was so welcoming!

Lynette specializes in skincare and lashes at Tranquility Spa in La Canada which is conveniently local for me. Lynette did a demo of what eyelash extensions would be like on me. She reminded me that when you are on your honeymoon, you don't want to have to wake up and put mascara on. Especially if you are going somewhere tropical where you are going to be in the water often.

TALAR'S STORY: MEN'S TUXEDOS

With only two pre-wedding blogs left, Serj and I are so excited that it's finally May and our countdown is getting shorter and shorter! Today's blog is all about the men!

Choosing their attire is the main decision we had to make for all the men involved in the wedding. The first step in the process was deciding whether the gentlemen would be wearing tuxes or suits. After some advice and some of our own research we decided to go with rented tuxes. In addition to our 6 man wedding party, we also wanted to rent tuxes for our dads and Serj's younger brothers, a grand total of 11 tuxes! So after researching for a company that would be accommodating to everyone's schedules and make sure that there were no errors, we decided to go with Bridal & Tux 4 U in Glendale.

CHRISTINE'S STORY: MY BRIDAL VEIL

Often times when purchasing a bridal gown, brides will also opt in for a matching veil. When I was purchasing my gown, I didn't fall in love with any of the suggested veils. Because my dress is a very dramatic ball gown, the designer suggested a short veil. The longest veil that was recommended was elbow length but I really had my heart set on a cathedral veil.

TALAR'S STORY: WEDDING DAY DECORATIONS

Decorating the hall is such an exciting part of wedding planning. Lucky for us, Metropol's design is already beautiful and has it's own elegance to which we really didn't need to add much. However, by the recommendation and suggestion of our florist, I started looking for a special head table, specifically a mirror one, that would add an extra touch to our wedding. She had recommended that I look into the services of ZI Events for some options.

CHRISTINE'S STORY: OUR UNIQUE CENTERPIECES

Flowers have always held a place close to my heart. When I was young, my mom used to make sill flower arrangements for our house and for friends. In high school, my close friend worked at the local florist. I thought what a beautiful line of work. So I started working at the local florist in high school. I realized though, my favorite florals were wedding florals and luckily I got the opportunity to work with a florist that does a lot of weddings. Bardwell's Florist became like my second home and family.
