TALAR'S STORY: MY MOST IMPORTANT WEDDING DAY VENDOR

There's just one person who has been helping me plan my wedding well before I was even engaged. In fact, she happens to be my most important wedding day vendor. You see, I'm a type one diabetic, and although during my every day this isn't that big of a deal, for my wedding day, it's the most important "deal". When brides plan their "day-of" events, most will tell you that you simply can't account for what to eat and when you will be given a chance to actually eat a meal. For me, this isn't an option.

CHRISTINE'S STORY: DIY INVITATIONS

One thing that you will definitely learn about me is that I'm big on DIY. When it comes to paper crafts, that's my specialty. In addition to making our Save the Date cards, one thing I have already started to make is our wedding invitations. I am trying to give myself a head start since we will be making quite a few cards.

TALAR'S STORY: HAIR AND MAKEUP

With my frizzy, unruly, and extremely thick hair, it’s practically impossible to find a hairstylist who can do a good job. At least until I found Nare! A friend of mine had made an appointment with Chateau De Luce for her bridal shower, and I went along. No one, and I mean no one, has been able to pull of what Nare can. Once after, I had my hair done for my parent’s surprise party and again it looked flawless. So when it came to making an appointment and deciding who will be doing my wedding hair, there was no doubt in my mind, that it would be Nare!

CHRISTINE'S STORY: SAVE THE DATE

My cousin, Armine sent me a text one day that read “Just an idea” with a photo of a couple’s save the date cards that read “Coming Soon” and their wedding date, outside of a theatre. I thought this was the cutest idea ever because of my background in the entertainment industry and I really wanted to make it come to life. I showed the photo to Victor and immediately texted our great friend, Haik, who had taken our engagement photos as well. Victor loved the idea and Haik said “Let’s shoot it!”

CHRISTINE'S STORY: CHOOSING THE DJ

The components that make up a wedding are each important; however, the two that are most important in my eyes are the music and the photographer. The different types of music played at a wedding set the mood for the entire night. Simply put, if there is great music playing, everyone will have a great time. Meanwhile, you need a photographer to capture all the memories made. Because our wedding is multi-cultural, we wanted to find the perfect DJ so that both sides of the family could enjoy what was playing.

TALAR'S STORY: CHOOSING THE WEDDING PARTY

One of the decisions I didn't have to to make was whether or not to have a wedding party! Serj and I always knew that it was important and meaningful for us to have our closest friends and family standing right next to us on our wedding day. With that said, allow me to introduce our wedding party and how we chose each person...

CHRISTINE'S STORY: WEDDING DRESS SHOPPING

The most fun I’ve had so far during all of my wedding planning has definitely been trying on bridal dresses. Until I was engaged, I never really had a style of a dress that I liked or a general look that I wanted. When talks about a dress came up, someone said to me “You can wear a mermaid dress for a lot of different occasions but you’ve never going to be able to wear a ball gown dress again.” With that said, the search for my ball gown dress was on!

TALAR'S STORY: CHOOSING A PHOTOGRAPHER

When it came to choosing a photographer, we knew the options were plenty. We had seen so many beautiful photos all over Instagram and Facebook. So we visited the Harsanik.com directory and started e-mailing photographers for quotes and requests for meetings. The roadblock we hit almost immediately was the costs. Most photographers offered packages, which included engagement photos, wedding day photos, videos, and all sorts of extras, which ultimately raised their prices. We saw prices that ranged between $6,000 and $13,000.
