Featured Wedding: Sako & Lilit

If Sako and Lilit look familiar to you, it's because we've been following their love story on our blog since last year! First, we shared Sako and Lilit's heartwarming proposal at their dance studio. We later featured the couple's stunning engagement party and engagement photo shoot. So we're thrilled to now share Sako and Lilit's beautiful wedding that took place on September 21, 2018. Sako and Lilit have a special type of love that one can clearly see in pictures and videos. We spoke with Lilit to get the details about their wedding day, the memorable first look, and their wedding planning adventures.

Tell us about your wedding planning experience.

When my husband and I went into this wedding, we knew we just wanted to have a good time and make it as memorable as possible for our guests. Our wedding was traditional and we had a lot of Armenian wedding traditions incorporated. I didn't care much to have a super extravagant wedding (in today's standard at least); so we focused on what really mattered. I would like to think I was a very easy going bride. I didn't even know what my centerpieces were going to look like until I walked into the hall! I just told my florist, Karine from VK Garden, to do whatever she wanted and they came out great.

The first step in our wedding planning process was booking Kris Kan. That was the only time I was picky because I HAD to have Kris. We went around his schedule and I'm so happy we did because he is a true professional and our photos are beautiful. We had our photos 3 days after the wedding!! Thanks to Kris, he referred Eric Film to us for video and we were happy with that decision too because Kris and Eric worked so well together. They made the entire process fun for us! We can't wait to see our video and we're sure it's just as amazing!  

I didn't have any fancy rentals, big centerpieces, a huge floral head table, or anything too extravagant. Don't get me wrong I love seeing beautiful décor and embellishments at weddings but I knew that none of that would capture who Sako and I are as a couple. We are a very happy couple and we just wanted to share our happiness with our family and loved ones.

How many guests did you have and what did you do for entertainment?

We had about 450 people at our wedding so we knew that the Renaissance Banquet Hall would be the perfect hall for us. Tigran Asatryan & Band was our entertainment for the evening and I'm sure it's safe to say that our guests had an amazing time. My husband made sure that Tigran's schedule lined up with our wedding date or I'm pretty sure he would have changed our date!

What was your favorite moment from your wedding?

It's hard to choose a favorite moment from our wedding day, but the one that still gives me butterflies every time I think about it is when Sako saw me for the first time in my wedding dress. Our photographer, Kris, decided to capture Sako's authentic reaction to seeing me and had me come out of my room when Sako didn't know. I was standing on my living room steps waiting to catch his eye and when he finally saw me, I LOVED his reaction. I don't think either of us has ever smiled so big before. There were a lot of tears (of joy!) and so much positive and happy energy! I wish for that to never go away.

Where did you go on your honeymoon?

Our honeymoon was WONDERFUL! We stayed in Monaco for 2 nights, Nice for 3 nights, and explored the South of France for the first part of our trip. We had rented a convertible car and drove up and down the beautiful Côte d'Azur. Our last stop was a 6-night stay in Paris where we had an amazing time and strolled the charming streets and enjoyed every second of it all!
